Online Choir Practice #2: Gloria
As this next piece is a bit long, I’d like to go over some tips on Reading Gregorian Chant. There’s a very good slideshow here. Also there is currently a free colouring book about learning to read Gregorian Chant at Frog Music’s Sacred Music Shelf Space.

Vocabulary Pages for Latin by the Natural Method
One of the recommendations in Fr William Most’s Teachers’ Guide is to have students construct their own vocabulary lists. There is no printed vocabulary in the back of the first year book: the idea is to require the students make a vocabulary notebook.

Tuesday – rainy day lessons
Rain is a bit of a novelty sometimes in Australia. Today we managed to mostly get through Lectio Decima, with many diversions along the way. Two parts – A and B – go for it!

What Lectio Prima might look like.
Lately our family has been going through Fr William Most’s textbook, Latin by the Natural Method. It’s great fun, but presented in a compact, black and white text, which could be greatly elaborated.

More ideas – and a new quiz
I came across LifterLMS and it look much slicker than Namaste! though it doesn’t really do as much. It looks like the more WatuPro quizzes I add here, the slower the website will work.

Term 2 2016 – The Reformation
It’s a funny thing to study – so much misinformation! We have Karl Adam’s Roots of the Reformation plus Cobbet’s book and R H Benson’s historical novels. Also a short life of St Thomas More.

Term 1 2016 – Middle Ages (mainly Europe)
Following Charlotte Yonge’s book on Roman History has been great this term. She strikes a good balance between brevity and interesting detail with a Christian perspective. It is easy enough to cross reference with other websites plus our Historical Atlas.
